Château Pesquié 4+2 Flaschen Édition 1912m Ventoux 2022

Es gehört zu den schönsten Seiten des Weinhandels: das Kennenlernen so sympathischer Winzerfamilien wie die Chaudières vom Château Pesquié. Angefangen hat alles mit dem ‚Les Terrasses‘, einem der beliebtesten Weine im Wine in Black-Sortiment. Und dieser Erfolg brachte die Idee auf, einen noch feineren Wein zu kreieren und so entstand der Château Pesquié ‚Édition 1912m‘, der die Herzen der Pesquié-Fans im Sturm eroberte.

Already blended but awaiting bottling when I tasted it in July 2023, the tank-aged 2022 Ventoux Edition 1912M is an assemblage of 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Cinsault. The nose is vaguely peppery and hints briefly of violets, then it develops more cherries and blackberries, while the palate is medium to full-bodied, round, silky and supple, with ample concentration and a ripe, fruity finish. Fun stuff.

Mostly Grenache with Syrah and Cinsault, the 2022 Ventoux Edition 1912M was also brought up mostly in concrete and tank. It brings another level of richness and has ripe black cherry and raspberry fruit as well as notes of licorice, roasted herbs, and pepper.
